32 Bit Library is a retro gaming book series for nostalgic gamers. Each volume is a curated retrospective of games from the original PlayStation library. Each game covered has a written entry discussing key details and information, not a generic review, and details on what made each title unique. Many screenshots from each game highlight moments and refresh readers on these classic titles. Bonus entries from industry professionals add extra content to each volume. Select games covered have additional retrospectives written from personal accounts of backers during the funding campaign for the limited special edition print runs. The goal is to have an archive of the PlayStation catalog organized chronologically and focused on a specific publisher or genre with each volume.

32 Bit Library Greatest Hits Volume 1 focuses on 50 of the best-selling titles released under the GREATEST HITS label. This was a program Sony had for games that met certain sales thresholds and were reprinted at an even lower price point. This curated collection takes a look at games that wouldn’t usually end up in a 32 Bit Library book, which have focused on specific publishers previously. Looking through 50+ different games over the course of 344 pages, you can chronologically see the evolution of these games on the PSX. Some industry friends and collaborators provide bonus essays. Returning to the project are Ry-Spirit with his amazing character art, Kurt Kalata from Hardcore Gaming 101, who provides coverage of some amazing import games to help balance out the book, and Shawn from MemCard.art, who provides the save data icons for each of the included games.

New guest contributors to the series, providing a few of the game write-ups inside the book, are Andre from the Fine Time podcast, Andrew Elmore, Dave Jackson from Tales from the Backlog, Andrew Bluett, and James Halliday

Also included are some original essays on the PlayStation and the Greatest Hits program by Addie (EposVox), Luis Aguasvivas, and Marc Normandin

This deluxe edition is a giant A4-sized hardcover with slipcase. There are spot UV details and a premium finish to the book.
